By August 31, 2019, 80% of the staff members in the Deans area, regardless of position, will have participated in a minimum of one professional development opportunity during the year. This will be documented through regular meeting reports, travel forms, registration notices, etc.

Keeping the goal and gaining information about what has been done this year will help our division set more realistic training goals in the coming years. It was apparent early on that this goal was weak, and that most employees complete more than one training each year. With that being said, I found it impressive that we at GCC are working diligently to remain current, and that almost 100% of employees are engaged in professional development.
The core objective that without a doubt we are reaching on a yearly basis is CO3.5, in enhancing the cultural awareness, skills and competencies of employees. This should help us retain qualified workers to support the services we offer for students.
Staff will be encouraged to use their union GEA funds and to attend free sessions offered through GUSTO, Mini-Summit and Professional Activity Days (PAD).
