By spring 2020, ACE Programs, with the assistance from full time faculty and area deans, will develop a formal process, schedule and procedure for monitoring and evaluating the quality of all Advanced Studies course sections. We will do so by making the best use of available resources and customize according to academic departmental needs. Although ACE is regularly collecting information such as graded samples, we still need a consistent system and documented schedule for data collection, reviews, meetings or class visits.
November, 2019:
We have added BUS 101 to the list of courses that will have a regular, formal assessment procedure. Specifically, ACE will collect graded samplings of the capstone project from Advanced Studies sections. These will be submitted to Dr. LaMattina for her review. Projects will be evaluated for the appropriateness of the grade assigned and compared against other sections on campus. Any issues or concerns resulting from the evaluation will be handled through collegial conversations. Also, we expect this review process to lead to collaborative exchanges of ideas between the college and high schools.
February, 2020:
Graded samples for ACE sections of BUS 101 have been collected from 70% of our business teachers. We will attempt to collect the remainder of samples before the end of the month. ACE will host our annual professional development session for foreign language teachers this spring and started planning a fall session for biology faculty.
June, 2020:
Due to COVID-19, our intended progress and events planned for spring have been put on hold.
